Case #1: A Young Mother’s Journey to Provide for Her Children
In a quiet corner of our community, a young single mother cares for her four children. Her story is one of love, sacrifice, and unwavering strength as she navigates the challenges of raising four beautiful children – a 10-year-old boy, an 8-year-old girl, a 4-year-old boy, and a precious 1-year-old girl.
Amid the laughter and chaos that fill their home, there lies an underlying concern that shadows their daily lives. One of her children battles health issues that demand countless trips to St. Louis – a journey that stretches over two and a half hours each way. It's a journey filled with anxiety and hope, as they visit doctors and undergo surgeries in pursuit of a healthier future.
The family car, unreliable, has forced the young mother to turn to her own mother for help, borrowing her vehicle to ensure her sick child receives the care they so desperately need. Major repairs beckon for the family car – the tie rods and tires, essentials for safety, need replacement.
Her life is a balancing act. A part-time job is her anchor, allowing her the flexibility to tend to her child's health needs. But this lifeline comes with its own sacrifices – a reduced income that strains her ability to meet the monthly bills that only seem to increase.
Family members do step in to offer their helping hands, ensuring that the children are cared for and loved even when the mother's responsibilities weigh heavily. This holiday season, you can make their path a little brighter and add a touch of joy to this family’s journey.

Case #2: A Family’s Journey of Challenges and Hope
In the heart of our community, a family of six faces unrelenting challenges in their manufactured home. Despite the mother’s hard work and improved job, they struggle to heat their home and mend a broken air conditioner. Monthly bills weigh them down, without the safety net of food assistance.
Still their determination shines. The mother works full time while pursuing a nursing license for a better future. The father, limited by health issues, searches for suitable employment. With one vehicle too costly to repair, they share an aging vehicle that reminds them daily of their financial constraints.
Blessed with four children, one with autism requires additional care; a 10-year-old girl, an 8-year-old boy, a 6-year-old girl a 4-year-old boy. The approaching holiday season casts a shadow as gifts and a festive season seems out of reach. A new table for family togetherness, storage containers to organize clothing and toys, household and personal hygiene products are included on their wish list in addition to the gift of hope for stability and an improved future.

Case #3: A Heartwarming Christmas for a Family of Resilience
In the midst of the holiday season, we come together to shine a light on a family's journey. The mother's path was far from easy, raising her son on her own while holding onto dreams of finishing high school. Now with her husband, they nurture the laughter of their three spirited boys, who seem to outgrow clothes and shoes in the blink of an eye. Their independence is admirable, yet in the spirit of Christmas, we reach out to them with open hearts.
An 11-year-old with dreams as big as the sky, a 9-year-old brimming with an over-abundance of energy and curiosity, and a wide-eyed 4-year-old fill their days with joy. Amidst their vibrant presence, the memory of their stillborn son remains etched in their hearts. Their journey led them through challenges, including caring for the mother's ailing mother, until they finally secured a place to call their own. It might not be spacious, but it's their own.
Offered is a chance to make their home warmer and their hearts lighter. A couch with washable cushion covers offers comfort beyond measure. Household supplies – a vacuum, mop, broom, dustpan, and trashcan – are humble but essential to maintain their cherished space. Among their wishes are also a few clothing and toy requests, simple yet meaningful touches that will make this holiday season one to remember. Let's wrap this family in the warmth of our collective kindness and show them the magic of the holiday season.

Case #4: Embracing Love and Togetherness for this Family of Four
Meet a single mom who works two jobs, attends John Wood Community College and raises her three children with an inspirational spirit.
Two years have passed since the children’s father disappeared from their lives, leaving this mother to shoulder the responsibility of providing for her family on her own. He provides no child support, but her love and devotion are boundless. She is determined to provide a brighter future for her children ages 10, 8 and 4 years old.
The oldest son faces the world with autism, attention deficit disorder and a learning disability. Despite his challenges, his face lights up when he’s engrossed in a puzzle or building intricate Lego creations. His mother cherishes the moments when his eyes sparkle with wonder and joy. The next son battles ADHD, a learning disability and severe anxiety. Despite his struggles, his heart is a soft spot for anything cats and play as he enters the community of Roblox or Minecraft. Both boys receive therapy and counseling, a testament to their mother’s unwavering commitment to their growth and development.
At only 4-years of age, the youngest loves all things “girlie”. Her mother finds joy in watching her daughter twirl about at play, wishing for Barbie dolls and using her imagination to express her love of unicorns and rainbows. These moments consistently bring forth smiles for both of them.
Balancing roles as a loving mother, hardworking employee and ambitious student with grace, this head of household hopes one of her part-time jobs will become full time, a glimmer of stability. Budgeting is a tightrope, with a broken microwave making mealtime a bit more challenging and a van needing continuous repairs. She would love a wall clock with numbers her children can read, rugs to warm and soften their bedrooms this winter and a couple of table lamps to chase away the darkness of night.
For this family of four, a little help can go a long way in making their world a bit brighter, a bit warmer and quite a bit more hopeful. Remind them that the true magic of the season lies in kindness shown to those who need it most.

Case #5: A Table of Love for a Family of Six
In our community lives a family of six, each with their own battles to face, drawing strength from each other. Dad works tirelessly and full-time to support the medical needs of his three children. Mom is the family anchor, her days filled with countless hours of trips in and out of town for various medical concerns for all three of their children. Fortunately, grandmother has moved in to assist; but she is limited by her own health needs. This Mom dreams of the simple things of daily life, such as sturdy plates and silverware, soft bath towels and cleaning essentials. She looks forward to the beacon of hope their therapy puppy will be for all of them.
Their oldest, a 13-year-old girl with Autism and panic disorder, faces her own challenges. She finds comfort in books, body lotions and bubble baths. Her big wish is a fun, fuzzy chair to cozy up in while exploring magical worlds hidden in the pages of books.
The middle child, an 8-year-old boy, is a bundle of energy and curiosity. Despite continuous monitoring for hypoglycemia, he is enthusiastic about board games, card games and science experiment kits. Mention the word "Nerf" anything and see his eyes sparkle with excitement.
Their youngest, a 3-year-old boy, faces the challenges of Cerebral Palsy, unable to stand or walk. His spirit and laughter shines with his love of music toys, Eric Carle books and anything Cocomelon.
As Christmas approaches, this family wishes for the warmth of togetherness around a large kitchen table where all six of them can gather, sharing meals, stories, and family time, a place where their love can shine brighter than the hardships they face.

Case #6: Christmas Pillows of Hope
The challenge of raising four children on your own is this mother’s life. Their father, who struggled to be present for his family, was on track to return home when he passed away. The heartbreak was compounded by the mother’s undiagnosed chronic and painful health issues that make full-time work difficult to do. Fortunately, a diagnosis and treatment were found with physical therapy to help her regain her strength. This newfound hope inspires her to dream of returning to school for medical training, aiming to help others navigate their health challenges.
The children, ages 4 to 13 years, require both physical and emotional energy. They have health concerns as well. One child has Hypotonia and Sleep Apnea, requiring physical and occupational therapy. Another child struggles with Sensory Processing Disorder, but the counseling that provided improvement is on hold due to school scheduling. The youngest has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Thankfully the children’s grandmother watches them when Mom works, but they are quite a handful for her.
There is little room in the budget for extras. This makes the approaching holiday season a daunting prospect. Supportive pillows for a good night’s sleep would be a welcome gift for everyone in this family. A working vacuum to keep the floors clean, a toaster, microwave oven, and pots and pans would make household tasks easier. True luxuries when you don’t have them.
The 13-year-old daughter would love the basic comfort of personal care items, slippers, and snow boots. The 10-year-old son loves all things Pokémon, as well as Legos and Nerf toys. The youngest boys, ages 4 and 5, enjoy bath time toys, Scooby-Doo, the enchanting world of Encanto, and Playdough.
With the support of the community, this Christmas will offer this family love, joy and a little bit of holiday magic.

Case #7: Holiday Hearts for a Newborn on the Way
In the heart of our community, this remarkable single mother is a beacon of positivity. She hesitates to ask for help, even when life throws its toughest challenges. Working full-time with two children and another on the way is a blessing that fills her with joy, but she also realizes she will now need some help.
Her mother, a devoted grandmother, cares for the young children while she is working, and her daughter reciprocates by assisting with bills.
Preparing for a new baby, she has purchased a larger, safer vehicle so there is room for everyone. She also finds time to create family memories by taking her 5-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter to community events and holiday activities like the pumpkin patch and big wheel nights.
Yet the list of baby needs is not small. She needs maternity clothing and essential supplies like sleepers, diapers, and a bassinet. The anticipation of holding her newborn keeps her going, but the increased needs give her pause. Her bright and inquisitive son has a love for dinosaurs, remote-controlled car and Spiderman. The toddler daughter adores characters like Peppa Pig and Minnie Mouse, and any outdoor toys.
Their cozy home is the heart of family life, and a new refrigerator is a longed-for appliance. Additionally, they would appreciate cozy twin-sized sheets for both children to ensure a warm and comfortable night’s sleep. Daily necessities such as laundry detergent, toilet paper, baby wipes and dish soap are always in short supply.
As the holiday season nears, this resilient family eagerly anticipates the arrival of their new addition this spring, and perhaps a touch of heartfelt generosity to support them on their journey.

Case #8: Fragile Ornaments and Just a Glimmer of Faith
With nothing more than the clothing on their backs, this mother and her children left behind a life marred by the shadows of domestic violence. The trauma has cast its dark cloud upon their hearts, especially the children. Living in perpetual fear and emotional turmoil has left them with behavioral, social, and cognitive scars, like fragile ornaments worn by weary souls.
In search of safety, this brave family found solace in the embrace of local agencies that extended a helping hand. Mom made the agonizing choice to provide her children with the safety they deserved, by leaving behind all that was familiar. She set out to secure work, housing, and childcare, determined to rebuild their lives. But the road to stability is paved with challenges. Their vehicle has broken down, and suitable housing remains elusive, making every step forward an uphill climb.
This Christmas, the support they seek is not merely about survival; they want to thrive! A humble kitchen table and chairs would represent more than furniture; it would be the heart of family gatherings for meals, homework sessions, and cozy game nights, a beacon of togetherness amid their new beginning.
The children's dreams and wishes are simple. The 10-year-old boy, yearning for the great outdoors, hopes for a skateboard, rollerblades, and a baseball glove and bat.. His 9-year-old brother, a Star Wars enthusiast, finds delight in the world of animals, insects, and sensory toys like slime, offering him a respite from the echoes of the past. The youngest son, just seven, has an imagination sparked by the wonder of dinosaurs, cars, and trucks.
Mom carries her own dreams, too. Safety for her children first, and perhaps art supplies to nurture her creative spirit and a bicycle for new adventures. In the end, they have each other and a fresh start—a priceless gift they cherish. This holiday season, this family seeks to gather around a table as a family, the comfort of cozy sheets to lay their heads, simple toys to kindle the children's hearts, with just a glimmer of faith for a brighter future.

Case #9: Gleaming and Glistening for Girls
In a cozy apartment, lives a single mother with her daughters and a bundle of joy on the way late winter. She is on bedrest, which makes it difficult to work, but her persevering spirit shines brighter than any holiday decoration.
Despite the challenges, she has managed to keep the bills paid, and even has a little saved back to help with rent. Her history of recovery has taught her this resilience, and with two daughters by her side, ages 13 and 4, she’s ready to face the holiday season with an open heart.
This Christmas, they could use a touch of magic. Basic kitchen pots, pans, silverware, and king bed sheets would make daily tasks easier. Looking ahead, a baby bathtub, teethers, wipes and bottles/bottle warmer will be needed.
Her 13-year-old daughter, a creative young lady, dreams of a room filled with a touch of sparkle. She'd love a black light to make her space glow with enchantment. Makeup, jewelry, and hanging lights or wall hangings would allow her to express her individuality and turn her room into a wonderland of dreams and self-expression.
The 4-year-old is a bundle of joy herself and is enchanted by dolls. She adores dressing them up in doll clothes, arranging doll furniture, and playing house. These are the same little items that will help her mother care for the new baby. It's a sweet reflection of the love and care they all share.
This all-girls family is a story of the power of family, love, and the magic that can be found as they prepare to welcome the newest member of their family.

Case #10: Girls of Grace
The girls, aged 11, 10, and 2, had been through more than anyone should in their young lives. They had to leave behind all their belongings and even some of their family. The past is a painful memory as they try to move on. Their mother, a woman of immense strength, has taken them away from the storm that had once engulfed them, seeking refuge and a fresh start in a modest apartment.
Their apartment is their safe-haven. The girls are adjusting to their new living situation with grace, slowly rebuilding their lives. Their mother is determined to provide a safe and nurturing environment, she wishes for a small television and a cabinet in the kitchen to prepare family meals. She also longs for a hand mixer to whip up delicious treats and a neutral "bed in a bag" set to bring sleeping comfort. Self-care products are on her list too, as she wants to set an example of strength and self-love for her three daughters.
The oldest girl, an 11-year-old, is an avid reader and loves delving into the adventures of Percy Jackson and his mythical quests. She also would enjoy experimenting with age-appropriate makeup. Her 10-year-old sister is captivated by the darkly mysterious world of the Series of Unfortunate Events. She secretly wishes for a cuddly Squishmallow to hold close during the long nights. The youngest, a 2-year-old bundle of joy, simply wants a Squishmallow of her own to hug tightly. She is at the age of curiosity and exploration, so learning activity books would be welcomed.
Despite their challenges, they have found help from community resources to provide the basics. These additional, simple requests hold a touch of magic, something to make their apartment feel more like a home, and their hearts less heavy with the burdens of the past. They are writing a new story, one filled with laughter, unity, and the promise of a new journey together.

Over a year clean, this dad knows the Drug Court Program saved a life and offered him an opportunity to rebuild his family.
